Why Do You See the Doctor?

If not a medical doctor, whom do you ask about a medical problem?

You are not feeling well, maybe you have a lump that suddenly appeared, perhaps you are experiencing a shortness of breath when climbing stairs, or maybe you have a close relative who was just diagnosed with a serious illness, and you are worried that you could be next.

Maybe you didn’t go to the doctor, perhaps you just asked your buddy at the bar what he thought. Some people might go to their spiritual advisor, or possibly you just Googled your question and didn’t like what you read.

I’m merely guessing, but I’ll bet you went to a doctor because you were concerned. Doctors are experts in health care, and this is especially true compared to the other sources listed above.

Do they make errors?

Are they always correct?

The answers to the above questions are yes, they make errors, and no, sometimes they are just plain wrong. But I would guess they know more about medicine than your buddy at the bar does or your spiritual advisor does.
