Will the Coming Years Be a Catastrophe or Just a Non-Starter?

We are off to the races with an exciting beginning to a new Trump presidency.

President-Elect Donald Trump has barely assumed office, and he and his coalition are already creating waves. He talks about buying Greenland, taking over the Panama Canal, and making Canada the 51st state. Then, a possible tempest-in-a-teapot was created by Mr. Musk (potential co-president), who wants to increase immigration through H-1B visas. This, of course, is the opposite desire of the MAGA base that wants to see less immigration, especially nonwhite immigration. Last, the Republicans fought over the bill to fund the government, which did not include eliminating the debt ceiling as Mr. Trump so dearly wanted. We are waiting to see what happens when the next bill to raise the debt ceiling comes to the floor.

Let’s consider other events that could make headlines and create clickbait for our declining mainstream media.

  1. How exciting are the fights over Trump’s cabinet picks? Subject to FBI vetting, one or two are ok, three or four are questionable, and the rest are unsuited for their designated positions. However, at this point, there doesn’t appear to be any serious vetting of…
