Open Letter to Governor DeWine of Ohio

I read where you commented on the new Republican budget proposal.

To paraphrase your words, “We all know that America’s debt situation is getting worse, and we need to reduce spending somewhere.”

I realize other Republicans have made similar statements, but your words were so powerful that I had to address this letter to you.

Do you think that all Americans are stupid, or are your words only directed to those who belong to the Cult of Trump?

The Grifter-in-Chief wants to see this budget proposal become law so he can cut spending on America’s poor while giving tax breaks to his wealthy friends. After all, so many of the poor are brown and black and don’t vote, so who needs them? Tell them to go back to where they came from.

Whoops! They are American citizens, and since you pledged to uphold the Constitution, you are their president, and you are charged with protecting them as well as protecting the well-off.

Many Americans know the deficit problem, and we know what caused most of it: tax breaks for the wealthy.

It is similar to the upcoming problems with Social Security and Medicare. Increasing the payroll tax to cover all payrolls and, if necessary, cover the capital gains tax are…
