I'm not so sure that Scotland will leave, and if it does, it might not be a large financial loss. I have always heard that the Scots get more out than they pay in.

I think northern Ireland is mainly pro -England and I am not sure that joining a Catholic country is that appealing to many non-Catholic citizens.

However, when people are hungry and cold, all bets of rationality are off, and anything can happen.
